Our Illustrator

We know Federico Baca to be a modest, innovative and talented illustrator. We loved the way he created the designs to fit the outline of each chair exactly. Each illustration is a beautifully detailed water colour and we have the originals framed at home. They are too beautiful just to be kept in the archives.
Working with Federico was a joy, not just because he is fun to be with but his enthusiasm and imagination are infectious. We drank many cups of coffee at cafes where we set up “offices” and never spilt a drop on those lovely art works. Although I understand one of his beloved cats did ruin a whole week’s work when it jumped on the table and knocked over the water. So Federico patiently recreated the illustrations for the book “How the Zebra got its Stripes”
Federico Bacca - our illustrator
Here is what Federico says about himself:
Federico was born in the small north Argentinean town of Jujuy. Having shown himself to be an imaginative young artist, he moved to Buenos Aires, studying graphic design, then to Barcelona, studying film and on to London, studying illustration and animation, where he now lives with his two cats.
He has always enjoyed drawing and has experience in painting, mixed media and printmaking. He uses these techniques to explore the world around him; he is inspired by nature and tries to capture the imagination of childhood and hopes to ignite the imagination of others.
Federico loves travelling in England and further afield, gathering ideas, images and stories. He is especially interested in India and the East and is inspired by indigenous arts. He has illustrated stories for FairyTale Furniture, for design companies, fashion retailers and also works as a freelance artist for a number of companies in London. He is currently working on 2 commissions; children’s stories about children who see the world in different and imaginative ways.
